Grouper_Fishing_Season_Orange_Beach_2011

The Fall Gag Grouper season opened with a bang. All year long, we have been leaving these monster size Grouper alone and allowing them to rest. The waters off Orange Beach can produce some really nice size Gag Grouper. Today was extraordinary. These fish were hungry and we dropped our baits for the first time this year, to the bottom of the gulf. We normally do not fish on the bottom, because if you catch fish deep and they are not in season, they could suffer barotrauma. That is why we waited until now to fish on the bottom. The Gag Groupers were all around 15 pounds today. They were hungry and they were eating just about anything you put in front of them. We look forward to a great Gag Grouper season in Orange Beach.
