Fishing Update from Orange Beach

This Summer has been slipping by faster than normal. There has been no deep sea fishing in federal waters south of Orange Beach since the first week of June. We have been offering inshore fishing trips with Captain Keith all Summer long. The Distraction has not moved from its slip because the area has been locked down by protective boom. Alabama has now opened up the state waters within 3 miles of shore of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores to “Catch and Release” only. The oil spill is basically stopped for all practical purposes. There is no oil within 93 miles of the Alabama shoreline and it is a light sheen further out. About 30 percent of the oil has been evaporating due to sunshine. I hope that I can give you some good news soon.
