Tough Day of Fishing

We have finally moved into a spring like pattern. We are having some good 70 to 75 degree days. The water temperature is running about 65 degrees offshore. The offshore fish bite is tough within 25 miles of shore. We are waiting for the water temp to get close to 70 degrees so the fish start moving toward shore. A 6 hour trip can prove to be tough fishing during this seasonal transition. 10 hour trips or longer would be recommended if you wanted to catch more meat. A six hour trip during mid March can be fun if you don’t want to keep much to eat. A four hour trolling trip should still be ok. The cobia are starting to show up but would expect them to really get good toward April 1. The redfish have also slowed a bit but are still being caught just offshore.
