My family and I have fished with Captain Troy for the last 10 years. We look forward to it every year. When we are not... out there, we are talking about our next trip. Our family recently chartered a 6 hour trip with Captain Troy over the holidays and it was an awesome experience! The... light hearted and relaxed environment that Captain Troy creates on his boat allows everyone fishing to feel more comfortable and focused on having a good time. Our entrance onto the boat was immediately met with a slurry of “dad” jokes that put everyone at ease and set the conditions for a fun and laid back experience. Captain Troy was accommodating and made our day of fishing one to remember. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to go fishing and have a good time while doing it!read more

Really enjoyed our fishing trip with Captain Troy. He was very entertaining and put us on top of the fish at every... stop. We easily caught 50 fish on our trip and there was only two of us. I have been on other charters where the captain and deck hand were not very personable. Captain Troy and his deck hand were very friendly, willing to talk, and were concerned if we were having a good time. I would highly recommend Distraction Charters to anyone. By far the best charter I have been on. I can't wait to book another one.read more

I really can’t say enough to have been able to use the Distraction fishing charter for our deep sea fishing... experience. I had never been before so you can say that I was a bit nervous but thanks to our Captain Troy, he calmed me down and new just how to make sure I enjoyed my experience. Not only was Troy very professional and friendly but he is a man who knew how to put us on fish. We were never put in a spot where we didn’t catch fish and it was a blast. Sam, the gentleman that helped us on deck was awesome. Sam was very professional and made sure we were all having a fun time. The boat was very clean and accommodating for me and 4 other grown men. I highly recommend if you are a first timer like I was, then book a trip with Troy and Distraction Charters.read more

Stop clicking. If you're searching the internet for a charter company, this is your stop. Troy made this trip... memorable and exciting. The bait, gear and air-conditioned boat were completely ready to go with new CAT diesels, we were off and fishing in minutes. We did the 6 hour trip and will do it again. Great for families with young children and for salty fishermen that are looking for that one that got away. Don't hesitate to book with Distraction. Also, the Heifer Dust seasoning that Troy makes is great on Amberjack and Snapper.Update one year later and another trip with Troy. Great fishing with friends on the boat. Corey and Troy make a great team to keep your hook in the water. I won't charter anywhere else on the gulf coast. We have a great time with my family and friends every time we board at distraction charters.Update three years later: Troy continues to take care of our family for fishing trips. Up and running full speed following hurricane Sally, we had a great trip and will be back! The gear, service and boat are always clean and ready for fishing.read more

We finally felt like our 3 boys were just the right ages to be able to enjoy deep sea fishing. We were looking for a... family friendly charter where it would be just our family on board. After scouring countless websites, we felt that Distraction Charters would be a good fit. We were not disappointed!! Troy and TJ were great. They made us feel at ease and were great with the kids...even those a little slower to come out of their shells. We liked that our trip was more about the “catch” and not the “keep.” We definitely had some feisty fish on our lines. We would highly recommend Distraction Charters and hope to be able to fish with them again!read more
