Cobia-Reef-Fishing-in-Orange-Beach-Alabama-during-Spring-Migration

The spring cobia fishing during the annual migration was not exactly what we were expecting this year. Even though there were reports about Destin and Pensacola fishermen having some luck, we simply did not see a good migration as compared to years past. Orange Beach has some really beautiful water which makes looking for Cobia while sight fishing pretty good. The problem with fishing in Orange Beach for Cobia is that our waters are shallow and does not get deep very fast as you sail away from shore. That simply means that the Cobia, by the time they get to Alabama waters south of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, spread out and end up going to the Alabama artificial reefs to feed. This weeks cobia fishing has produced some pretty good size fish with our heaviest being just around 40 pounds.
